I am an empty nest retired teacher, with hands-on experience with my son, nieces and nephews. Recently I decided that in retirement, I missed the exposure of being around my students. So many new babies are born during the winter and spring, and parents need that "extra pair of hands", which will enable them to go back to work. I know, from personal experience, that having someone you trust to care for your child, during the hours you are at work, is extremely important. I love to be outdoors, in the nice weather, visiting the local zoos and parks. There are other "hands on" museums, as well as activities that I can participate in, with your child. She has been babysitting for a long time, and after speaking with her, I decided that babysitting/childcare would be the ideal situation for me. I am certified as a Secondary Education teacher for grades 7-12. I went back to teaching when my son entered middle school. I have taught grades 7,8,9 and 12, in addition to private tutoring and tutoring for a learning center after school, for all ages. I taught summer school for many years as well. I loved teaching, but it was time for me to retire due to the many climate changes in the field of education.
