Meet Jenna

Hello! I’m Jenna. I’m currently in my fourth semester at community college and am transferring to a four year college in the fall to study early education. I have worked with all ages of children for a year and a half now, but I have primarily worked with children from the ages 2-6. My first year I worked with children I was a day care worker. I had up to ten 4-6 year olds in a room for 8 hours a day. My responsibilities were to play with them, make sure they got snacks and lunch, nap time, arts and crafts etc. That job was what made me realize how much I love working with children and is why I want to become a teacher. I grew to love every child I worked with and looked forward to the time I got to spend with them. And it brought me Read more so much joy hearing and seeing the impact that I had on their lives as well. That’s why I have such a passion for working with children. Although it can sometimes be hard work, watching them learn and grow makes it all worth it. I now work for an after school program with kids from preschool to middle school. I get to hang out and play with them for a few hours after school while their parents are still at work. A few things about me, I enjoy a good rainy day in, cuddled up on the couch but I love nature and adventures. I love being active and finding new places to see and things to do. I also have a strong love for all animals. I grew up in a big family with lots of cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, basically any household animal I could convince my parents to get. Although I am a full time student all of my classes are remote classes that I do at my own time, so I am available five days a week any days that you need me.
