I am very young at heart and love spending time with children of all ages, assisting in their development. I play a very active role as aunt to my now 9 year old niece and 5 year old nephew. I've essentially helped my sister raise them, including sleep training and potty training. I also do part time/sporadic childcare for 2 families, both with 2 children -- 2 & 5 yo girls in one family, 1 yo boy & 6 yo girl in the other. I have also done previous work w/ 2 other families, each with 2 boys, ages ranging from 1 - 12. You can't beat the everlasting energy, sheer honesty & purity of a child! I love being around that, even if they can be difficult at times. They are children! In addition, I am Director of Public Relations & Marketing for The Crafty Kids, located in FiDi Read more NYC. I help the founder Stacey Kurylo with her marketing & outreach, but I also teach arts & crafts to young children and/or host birthday parties from time to time. In between those two things, I also manage properties in Jersey City, San Francisco & Los Angeles! I am happy to provide references for all of the above. We can chat further and I can answer any questions you may have. I speak English fluently and attended Barnard College at Columbia University. I used to work & live in Manhattan, but now reside in Bergen County, NJ. I am willing to travel anywhere in Bergen County or the city. My approach to child care: If it's nice out, I like to take the kids outdoors for some fresh air, preferably a playground or a zoo. If the weather is not conducive for that, I like to take them to a museum or stay indoors at their residence doing educational arts & crafts or games w/ them -- things that help them express themselves and learn how to count, read, organize/sort, clean/help around the house! In my spare time, I do volunteer work with Unleashed (involves young girls in puppy rescue, thus enabling them to feel empowered about social change), as well as with Riverside Park's Conservancy Grassroots Volunteer Program (I weed & water new plantings around the 97th Street Dinosaur Playground). Not to mention, I love spending time with my family, friends and my 2 dogs, and I enjoy yoga, biking, cooking and taking advantage of all the incredible things NYC has to offer!
