I am enrolled in remote classes at The City College of New York, working on my Bilingual Childhood Education BA. I have a very friendly, welcoming, and nurturing personality. I am an older sister, we have an 9 year gap which, of course, deemed me her personal (un)official babysitter. I also have both professional and personal experience with infants. I also lived with a close family and was closely involved in caring for her twin infants during their first 18 months, supporting and implementing routines and development. Throughout the last 20 years as a teacher and managing services for children with developmental disabilities in the department of health and department of education I have worked as a nanny.on the side for supplemental income. I have extensive experience with premature infants up to middle school children and with children on the spectrum, with ADHD or speech delays. I am well versed in the milestones a child should achieve and as a caregiver I implement age appropriate goals to make sure that I work with each child on all their domains of development including their cognitive, sociall, language, academic (if applicable) and physical; although safety is always my #1 priority. Working with children requires patience, empathy, being passionate about it and understanding that every child is different in their own way. I believe that good communication between parents and all caregivers is essential so that everyone is on the same page. As a mom myself I understand how difficult it can be specially for first time parents to separate from their child and feel like they are "missing out" or having a sense of guilt kick in and I'm here to make the process easier and provide ease. For parents with multiple children struggling to find alone or couple time, I am there to insure your mind is at ease with regards to your children’s care while you get some much needed girl/self/couples time. I am CPR certified and update it every 2 years. I am a non smoker.
