Hi! My name is Annika and I am a dedicated and experienced bilingual childcare professional with 6+ years of experience. I am originally from Austria, now happily settled in the New Jersey/New York area. Caring for children is something I find genuine joy in and have devoted myself to with my whole heart. My approach to childcare is rooted in warmth, consistency, and deep respect for each child's individuality. I believe in gentle guidance, emotional validation and creating environments where children feel safe enough to explore, make mistakes, and grow. Whether we are cooking a nutritious meal together, discovering a new park, reading a favorite book for the tenth time, or simply sitting quietly and watching the world go by, I am fully present, fully engaged, and genuinely full of joy to be there. I am also CPR and First Aid certified, Water Safety certified, and fully trained in allergy management and emergency response. My background: I hold a diploma in Social Pedagogy, giving me a deep academic foundation in child development, early childhood education, and family dynamics. And I have extensive experience with children of different ages (infants to teenagers). I have worked as a full-time nanny for a wonderful family in Michigan, caring for a newborn and a four-year-old simultaneously. And in my most recent childcare position I have spent four years as a lead caregiver with Vienna Children and Youth Services, where I cared for up to eight children simultaneously, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, managing everything from daily routines and specialized nutrition to emotional support and developmental milestones. That experience taught me how to stay calm under pressure, how to truly see each child as an individual, and how to show up consistently as a stable, nurturing presence.
