Hi there! I've just graduated from Oberlin College and I am home for the summer months looking to babysit. I studied Latin American Studies and Environmental Studies in school with a concentration in food justice and immigrant rights. My passions include community organizing, teaching, hiking and exploring outdoors, creative writing, painting, reading, and theater. I love working with kids and have extensive experience generating fun activities with children/teens of all ages. I have taught Spanish to first graders twice a week for the past 3 years (would be willing to provide Spanish lessons/speak to kids in Spanish) along with a stint as a teacher’s aid at bilingual Middle School Buena Vista Horace Mann. I spent summer 2012 teaching middle schoolers computer skills in Ecuador, Summer 2013 as a sleep-away camp counselor at Eden Village Summer Camp (first session with 13 year olds, second with 6-8 year olds), Winter 2013 as Read more a youth educator at the Natural History Museum of NYC, and Summer 2014 leading a nature-explorers summer camp and managing teen interns at Cedar Run Raptor Center in Medford, NJ (kids ages 4-14). Additionally, I’ve babysat on and off for a number of years throughout High School for two families. All of these experiences have helped me develop my creativity in thinking up fun, educational activities for kids. I will be home from now up until the last week and half of August when I depart for Mexico on a Fulbright grant to once again engage in a new teaching adventure! I’m seeking a part-time babysitting job preferably in Montclair or New York, but I’m super flexible and have a wide range of availability.
