I am second year student at Middlesex County College. I got my first job senior year of high school at an Elementary school as an after school aide. I was terrified to work with children, but I ended up falling in love with that job. I decided to work at Piscataway Summer Camp after that school year ended as an aide for preschoolers. They were a challenge to work with over the summer, but it was the best job ever. I never had so much fun taking care of children. Next school year I decided to be an aide at Children Corner - The Pond and I was a pro at taking care of children. It's my job to keep all the students safe and for them to enjoy their time in Aftercare while they wait for their parents to pick them up. During that year though, I decided to Read more take up a second job in retail to help me during the holidays. Working in retail made me realize I'd rather work with children more than adults haha! But working in retail helped me with customer service and being more patient. I did not stay long in retail because I was just a seasonal worker. After that school year ended, I worked again at Piscataway Summer camp and my bosses requested me to work with toddlers. Now, that was a challenge. Teaching children how to potty train and changing more diapers than I can handle, taught me A LOT. I knew it was all worth it at the end. Currently, I work at a differently Elementary school than my first job, and now I am working with second graders. I love my job. Working with children is great after being in school, talking to my classmates and professors. It's so refreshing! - - Update! Hello, coming from 2020! I am now a teacher’s assistant at YMCA! :)
