My first qualifications as a babysitter come from taking care of younger siblings from the time I was 12 years old. Like most teenagers I babysat on the weekends during high school to save some money. However, as I've gotten older and pursued a degree and a variety of work opportunities, I've found that working with children has been the most rewarding. During my senior year at Rutgers University, I was also able to maintain an internship which allowed me to work once a week at an on campus preschool. With this internship I was able to observe, but also learn about how to cope and deal with different behavioral issues that some children may exhibit in a school setting. I certainly believe this helped me to not only understand but empathize more than I did before. This proved to be one of the best things I've ever done. Exhausting, Read more definitely but more than rewarding. It was after that year I decided to travel and work simultaneously. For the past year I have been living and working as a teacher in Thailand. My students varied from age 3 to age 11. Not only was that the best decisions I've ever made, it reinforced how much I genuinely enjoy working with kids. I have had quite a few year's of experiences working with kids, even as young as infancy. However, I must admit that has not been as frequent as toddler age and older. I am also certified in First Aid, as recent as 2017.
