I am currently a Nursing and Health Science student at Rutgers Camden university. I have a passion for helping children and my goal upon graduation in 2019 is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I have a very energetic, warming, and loving personality. As the eldest of five, I am naturally comfortable caring for children and have over 10 years of unpaid experience. I also have experience caring for twins, being that I am the older sister of twin girls. In 2013, I was 1 of 125 to be selected from a 750 applicant pool to be a summer teen volunteer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. It was there, where I initially gained experience caring for special needs children and confirmed that my future would be in childcare. Growing up my younger brother had delayed speech so I am familiar in this area. I worked as an after school Read more program counselor at Rutgers Ignite from 2014-2017 providing homework assistance, tutoring, and behavior counseling at 3 different inner city middle schools. I also worked as a summer counselor for this program from 2014-2016. While working here, I individually supervised full classrooms of over 15 students, consisting of 3rd-8th graders. I am also CPR , First Aid, and AED certified for infants, children, and adults through both the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
