I grew up with a big extended family and therefore was always around children and asked to watch my cousins or other neighborhood kids. My mom also taught art lessons to kids, including a summer camp every year. Later in life she began teaching preschool and I volunteered as her assistant in the classroom on my days off. This volunteer position later transitioned to helping her as the children's library. I have experience simply watching kids, but, because of my mother, I also have experience teaching kids and helping them learn and become creative. Although this experience is not formal, I can still provide additional benefits to your children while I watch them such as homework help or creative activities to keep their mind stimulated and away from the TV, computer, phone, or video games.
