I have 5 grown children ranging in age from 35 years old to my youngest who is 19. I am an empty nester, but sadly not yet a Grandma. :( My husband and I have run a business together for the last 25 years and are closing our business. I am not ready to retire and have decided that this is the perfect opportunity for me to do something I would love. I love kids and feel this would be a great way to stay busy while doing something I truly enjoy. I am excited to pursue a career where I can make a difference in the life of a child as well as their family. I was very fortunate that I was able to bring my children to work with me but I certainly understand how difficult it is to have to leave your children in order to work, Read more so I hope to bring peace of mind to a family that their children are in caring and loving hands. I really believe in the value of books and of reading to children. I think it is critical to instill a love of reading in children while they are young. Once they discover the joy of reading it will help them to succeed in school later and give them a gift that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Now that I have made this decision, I did some research as to basic qualifications and have obtained a negative TB test, I will be completing Stars Training and enrolling in a CPR First Aid course as well as obtaining my food handlers certification. And of course a background check!
