Creative and fun sitter (imaginary play champ!) but all business when called for. Very reliable and easy to get along with. Safety is my number one priority. Also known as "the sleep whisperer" when sitting infants. Extensive experience sitting as needed and part time on the UWS, UES, Long Island City and Brooklyn since 2003. Natural teacher and helper, down to earth and knowledge of positive behavior modification. Know the ins and outs of sitting in an urban environment from morning until night. School pickups, classes, playdates, homework, dinner, bedtime routine. Apartment upkeep, laundry, errands etc. I have experience with multiple days and overnights with children as well as a dog sitter. My caregiving experience includes all ages and special needs as well. I used to sit as needed for 4 different families who where friends so there were times I would watch 12 plus children at once. My past Read more experience as a children's theatre teacher, corporate team building faciliator, storyteller and acting coach give me the skills to be able to achieve this. I am a professional musical theatre actress, a graduate of The Boston Conservatory and originally from the Boston area. I have been living in NYC since 2002 and moved to Astoria in 2007. Starting to focus more on my career as an acting coach and working on a book. So I am taking a break from auditioning for the summer and seeking steady sitting now instead of as needed. Ideally looking for something consistent in the range of 15-25 hours a week however "book as needed" families are great too. I have a sitting job at 95th and Broadway M-F 10-2 so I am specifically looking for work that starts at 3pm on the UWS. Would like to be part of your team and form a caregiving relationship that will last for years. Plus, I have a great sense of humor and love to fold laundry. Multiple references and social security provided for your independent background check upon request. Thanks for your consideration!

We are thrilled to have Katherine in our lives! She has watched our son since he was just a few months old, including one day from 5am to 6pm (!!!) when we were out-of-state. It is awesome to know that he is safe and having a terrific time when Katherine is with him! She's also a really talented, interesting person and I love chatting with her too - can't say enough great things!
