Dear Potential Employer, I was pleased to come across your job opening and ecstatic for a potential job opportunity. I’m currently a full time nursing student in college. I am a certified phlebotomist, and basic life support certified. My work experiences are forever expanding over the years from my internship at The Jewish homecare center on kingsridge road for 2 years, to my volunteering tutoring with Reading Partners at the Metropolitan Elementary school. Additionally, for work I’ve worked at three separate Panera Bread as a Cashier and line assembly in Georgia and New York. I’ve also work at Kmart in Customer Service, and most recently I was a 1:1 Classroom Assistants or autistic babies ages 2-3 at this foundation called the McCarton Foundation. Here I changed diapers, provided snack, made sure my child was safe during play time and engaged in fun but learnable activities. I also volunteer regularly with Read more these two organizations one is called Keen which specializes in finding volunteers that enjoys spending time (sports related , music , arts, outings) with kids or adults with various developmental or general disabilities, and the other is called New York Cares that specializes in finding volunteers with the ability to help organize, orchestrate, and lend a hand in New York whether it be in their own communities or surrounding boroughs. In my internship at the Jewish Home lifecare I was able to grasp skills like how to properly feed the elders, transporting in wheelchairs, how essential it is to have a simple conversation and visit with elders who otherwise don’t have anyone there for them, I’ve also learned a lot about the medications they take with my occasional shifts in the pharmacy, cutting and packaging pills. Overall the most valuable lesson I’ve learned at my internship is that compassion and the ability to listen goes a long way. Through my work at the McCarton Foundation and my volunteering through Keen I was able to grasp a better understanding of the challenges children and adults with disabilities face daily. I had to quickly learn that two individuals with the same disabilities on the same spectrum can react differently to the same exact situations. I believe all of my experiences have made me into the person I am today. Someone who is passionate about the field of healthcare and science. Someone who likes to give back to their community and city. Someone who is hardworking and determined to become successful. Thank you for taking your time to review my application and this letter, if you have any questions and or concerns the fastest way to reach me is by email or text. I hope you can schedule a time for us to discuss the position further.
