Visual artist, sculpture student and participant at The art students league of New York Martize Brooks spent 4 years being mentored by the retired curator for the Cleveland museum of Art Barbara Kathman, Textile designer and world traveler, While working as an artist assistant He learned both craft and art history from the fruits of her travels. Influenced so strongly by his mentor, Martize mission is to apply all of those teachings to the next generation of young artists and intellectual. Martize was invited to teach children photography at the Andrew Freeman Center. He had children walk around photographing what they found interesting and valuable. He taught them the meaning of capturing the moment and conveying it to others. He would like to push more on having children understand the meaning of their art in the process that goes along with it.
