Meet Lucia

• Comfortable with pets

I come from a very large family where new babies are born every year. I changed my first diaper very early on as I am the oldest of 37 first cousins on my dad's side, and the 3rd oldest of 20 on my mother's side. I have taken care of children for over 15 years collectively. I have a positive and happy disposition with a great amount of patience. I think it's important to be present with kids- I'm not one to be glued to my phone. I like to give my undivided attention always, so the child feels seen, heard and important. Furthermore, I think it is important for children to be individuals and be applauded for being themselves. I have taken several child development classes in High School and college. I feel lucky to have this education as well as first-hand experience will all types personalities in children. Read more I have been told I have a young soul and I am always up for a tea party, coloring, reading, and teaching their numbers in Spanish. I always keep in mind the rules of the parents and I enforce these rules accordingly in a caring way. I'm not a tough love-type, but rather I like to use a patient, explanatory method. Aside from watching my siblings and cousins I have nannied for a family of 2 sweet girls under 5 one summer in Redondo Beach, California in 2013. I have also babysat for a darling 6 month old in Brooklyn this year. I have also nannied for a free-spirited 4 year old this year for a Brooklyn family, who will be moving to Texas soon. Being that I am from California and used to being around children all the time, this last year made me realize how much I missed making a difference in a child's life. I think it's important for children to be lifted up and made to feel valued and I would love an opportunity to do that.
