When I was 15 years old, I enrolled in an after school summer program for kids, as a counselor. It was unpaid, as I wanted to do it just for the experience. When the summer program ended, my boss offered me to come work for their after school program for the upcoming school year. In conclusion, I love children. I watched after them, even though I was quite young, like they were my very own. I worked as an after school counselor for almost three years and dealt with children from the ages of 5-13 years old. Along with this job offer, I was also offered to do evening swimming classes with mentally disabled children most weekends. This involved dealing with them hands-on, and communicating with them, not just watching them. I am not a licensed babysitter/caregiver, but I can promise you that I have learned so much about dealing Read more with children by having two little sisters living with me and my past job experiences. I am always willing to be creative and be involved with children, and I will try my best to allow them to feel like I'm their friend. I am a college student, and have also taken excessive amount of psychology classes (adult and children) because I initially was interested in getting a degree in childcare. All of these reasons encourage you to trust me with your children, as I understand it is not easy to let someone into your home and trust them to look after your children with their most absolute attention and care.
