Genel came to work with our family when I needed to go back to my job 3 months after my daughter was born. I was working from home much of the time and having Genel in the house was both a pleasure and also easy. In light of the the current situation, where many people are now working from home, I know Genel will be adaptable and helpful no matter the set-up. She was great about bringing my daughter to me for breastfeeding when needed, she also helped around the house with meals, cleaning, laundry and even made sure my neglected houseplants were watered. As a mom herself, she has great understanding for the needs of both children and parents. She is punctual, and organized which is great for us as parents, yet strikes a good balance with laughter, a love of books and music for the children. Genel is smart and witty, and likes to keep a regular schedule with the child and is always looking out for their physical, social and emotional health and development. She has many years of experience, and is very capable of working with multiple babies/children at once (as we benefited from when we transitioned to a share with another family later on). I know Genel takes pride in her work and with each and every child she works with. And even though my daughter is now in pre-school she still checks in with us to make sure we are doing well. (And bonus: she’s good with dogs, and can teach you to make some delicious meals too)

We've had the pleasure of working with Genel for 2.5 years, since my son was 3 months old. She is tireless, patient, communicative, funny and kind, and she gave me, a first time mom, enormous confidence to go back to work, knowing that my son would not only be kept safe, but also that he'd have a lovely day. Genel initiates a steady flow of activities, including music and art classes, library visits, and daily playdates. my son is social and adaptable, and I joke that he has more friends than I do, and that's all to the credit of this extraordinary woman. She has a huge amount of experience (and her own children) and is a wealth of information about child development and milestones. Genel was always my first call with any questions I had about my son's behavior or care. She is collaborative, and truly part of our family.
