I have worked in NYC as an after school sitter and tutor for middle and high school aged girls, as well as provided after school care and tutoring to a young girl from when she was five until ten years of age. What I love most about this job is the spark of innocence and joy that kids have, and getting to ignite that spark even more with games and activities that awaken their imaginations. Of course help with homework provided, nourishing snacks as provided by parents, but also lots of arts and crafts, imaginary play--I am very engaged and participative with kids, and know how important it is to encourage them to be themselves exactly as they are. I am not a huge fan of video games and television, personally, but I do of course support whatever parents allow.
