I am a junior in college and am pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special education. I have completed an internship working in the local YWCA Preschool, I spent a month volunteering abroad this winter teaching elementary age children, and I have been a babysitter for seven years. I am also a trained respite care worker through the Franziska Racker Center in Cortland, NY. Through this program I spent an entire summer working with one family and their two children. I love working with children for a variety of reasons. Their exploratory nature and excitement with the world is incredible. There are so many things that I have learned from children that I have babysat. This is what prompted me to enter the teaching profession.
