I love watching children play and develop. Once when I was waiting for an interview at our local YMCA (I didn’t get that job unfortunately) I was sitting in front of a window into a children’s play area and couldn’t stop watching these kids play with a toy truck together. Through eighth grade and high school I worked as an assistant teacher in the Sunday school at Temple Concord. For four of those years, I followed the same class from second to fifth grade (the last year I stayed in fifth grade). I volunteer at an organization called Interfaith Works which, among other things, helps with refugee resettlement. My family and I were connected with a family from Myanmar who we often help out. I usually help supervise the children, ages 8, 4, and 2. I’ve also helped watch and play with kids in the Interfaith Works playroom while their Read more parents are in citizenship classes.
