I am currently looking for a summer job, occasional or one time jobs. I am working as a teacher so I am currently on break. Fri, Sat and Sun availability varies It can be a one time thing or something more consistent. (Babysitting or tutoring) If you have something short notice, I can do a day before or even same day notice but 7 hours beforehand (because I need to account for travel time) My name is Kristie and I am 27 years old. I have been babysitting since I was 12. I baby sat little cousins and sisters for a few years. In my senior year of high school, I got a job at an after school. I've learned a lot in the 5 years at the afterschool. I have learned how to deal with all kind of kids and different ways to talk to them. Some kids are Read more easier to deal with than others but they're all the same. At my after school job I taught the children (4-13) about music and how to play instruments as well as have them do some arts and crafts and cook shop. I enjoy working with children and like to be involved. When working with children, sitting out on the sidelines is a no-no because they will see you aren't interested and they will lose interest and react in a negative manner. I tutored an 8 year old in her home and her report card has improved in a month's time. I have also tutored 2 children in Spanish, ELA and math for the state tests, ages 6 and 10. They're did very well in the scores, and the 10 year old's writing skills vastly improved. I worked with a family for two years who I met here on sittercity and their two boys are wonderful. When I first started they were a bit wild, but we have gotten to the point where they understand that there is a time to play and there is a time to work. I am not working with them now because of scheduling conflict, we left on good terms. I have recently completed my second year of teaching and I have enjoyed my experience but I would like to use the summer to work with children without the structure of a curriculum. I speak Spanish and English fluently. I just ask for a chance , and hope to work with someone soon Thank you for your time.
