Most of my experience is with children ranging from 6 months to 10 years old. I worked as an After School Teaching Assistant for two years (2014-2016), in which my duties included helping children with their homework, planning daily activities with teachers, meeting with parents to discuss any conflicts concerning a student, and translating for Spanish-speaking parents. Through this job, I became Child CPR Certified and First Aid Certified (both certifications have since then expired, however I am working towards renewing them). Since then, I have worked as a sales associate and certified "Pet Expert" at PetValu Pet Store, and thus I am very comfortable with pets. (I also have a dog of my own.) For most of my life, I have babysat my older sister who has special needs, and have babysat family friend's children on the side. My older sister requires special care which includes showering her, dressing Read more her, making sure she takes her medication, and supporting her when she has seizures. I am fluent in Spanish, and at my church I volunteer teaching children Spanish. For the past year, every Sunday at church, I have also taken care of a 1.5 year old baby boy for about 5 hours each Sunday. My duties with him include feeding him, burping him, changing his diaper, playing with him, and encouraging him to walk and speak. While I do have a lot of experience with children, I've never established an official babysitter profile. Furthermore, I am new to the area of Queens and so am very excited to use my skills to help those who need childcare in the area.
