I love working with children. If I didn't go to school to be an engineer I definitely would have gone to be a teacher! I've helped babysat for family and friends a handful of times in the past. Most my experience working with kids comes from different jobs over the years. I was a lifeguard for 6 years, worked at a Ninja gym for a year helping primarily with birthday parties and tiny ninjas for 2-4 yr olds, and I currently volunteer with a local organization that teaches kids how to mountain bike! I have my CPR certification and also have wilderness first aid certification from the National Outdoor leadership school. I also was a swim coach for a local swim club helping kids learn and improve on their swimming. I grew up with two Bernese Mountain dogs, currently have a Golden retriever, and I absolutely love dogs. In my free time, I love the outdoors, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, and rock climbing. I also love crafts, painting, yoga, and board games. I had the best babysitter when I was younger who would always be crafting & playing games with us and we loved getting to hang out! I definitely strive to have the same energy and impact she had on me growing up! Another leadership experience I had, was in college, I got to lead a 4-day rock climbing and 4-day backpacking pre-orientation trips for incoming freshman. With this opportunity, another leader and I were responsible for planning the trip and ensuring freshman that might have no experience in the activity or terrain were prepared for the trip, happy, safe, learned new things and overall had a great experience trying new things with new people.
