Hello! My name is Amber Aponte. As a New Jersey native, I am somewhat new to the Hudson Valley. Last Spring I moved to Garrison, NY to work on getting my MFA. I have always had a strong passion for art, which includes: painting, sewing, crafting and pottery. My art career has led me to many opportunities that allowed me to work with children. In college, I gave sewing classes to kids in town and at the local 4-H camps. I was a mentor and instructor for the JCC for four years- teaching ceramics during the summer. I worked in their "infantry" day care program, with babies as young as four months. In addition, before switching my major to art, my major in college was elementary education.
