I have my BFA in studio art and love to craft and draw with little ones. I also love to go on nature walks, read and play with the children I care for. I have experience caring for 2 - 10-year-old. I am willing and excited to expand on this range. I am fully vaccinated and up to date on boosters and intend on remaining vigilant with Covid boundaries. Hello, My name is Valentina. Born and raised in Kingston Jamaica. From a tender age, I have always cared for the elderly, children and animals. I grew up on a farm with my grandmother, a strong woman who raised me to be the young lady I am today. She ended up becoming very sick to the point where we couldn't care for her anymore, but that didn't stop us at all. We hired a part time Nurse and I came home from school in the evenings to look after my grandmother in our own home. After years of struggling with being an amputee due to diabetes and morbid obesity her heart finally stopped and she died in her sleep. After her death, I moved to America to pursue nursing. I started out with a live in job with a family in long Island. I took care of a retired policeman who became immobile due to his morbid obesity and his need for a pacemaker. I also took care of special needs children and I also worked in hospice care. All of these jobs prepared me for the nursing field. I realize that nursing isn't easy, this isn't the movies, it's certainly not Grey's Anatomy. And with these experiences, I build friendships here in America. And I believe that this journey is only the beginning.
