Hi! My name is Krystina, I have Masters in Early Childhood Education and am a Certified teacher in NY State. Currently I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in a 4th grade self contained - Special Education room. I also have experience with pre-school aged children, 1st grade, 2nd grade and 3rd grade students. I love children and I have a lot of patience for everything and anything that comes with working with these little guys! I have been babysitting for years for friends, family and lots of other people I have met through the years! I have volunteered in a preschool, worked in a preschool summer program and spent countless hours observing in classrooms around Westchester (requirement of the masters program). For me, there is nothing a child's smile can't fix. I love working with kids for many different reasons but the two that make it most worth Read more while for me are: 1. No matter what mood you are in the minute you walk into a school, or the child's house you are babysitting for you kind of have to hide that mood. You don't want the child to pick up on how your feeling and upset him/her. This sort of forces you out of your bad mood. After about 10 minutes with children you forget why you were in a bad mood in the first place. 2. More importantly, being able to make a positive impact in the day/life of a child. This is especially true in school. As teachers we only spend about 6-7 hours with our students a day. Since no one knows for sure what kind of home environment these students go home to I believe it is my job to make those 6-7 hours as positive, nurturing, and safe as I possibly can.
