I love children and their different personalities. I am going to Queensborough Community College to become a teacher. I want to work with kids from grade K-4. Right now I work at a Child Care Center called Tutor Time where I assist teachers. I nurture the infants, guide the toddlers, and I'm an assistant teacher for preschool and Pre K. I enjoy helping the children learn. One thing I love about my job is the connection I have with the children. They know that no matter what they can always come to me whether they want to tattle on a classmate or something they did at home. The reason I want to teach is because of the happiness I feel when the children understand. For example, I had a student that couldn't write her name and she was frustrated because while everyone else can do it, she couldn't. That happiness on her face is the reason I want to teach. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. At my facility, I have to have a certain amount of hours to work with kids. I have them all and in training, I've learned about Shaken Baby Syndrome, Sids and etc. I am great when it comes to working with kids. I love their stories and the things they say can surprise you and make you laugh.
