I have spent the last 3 years working with elderly and also people with special needs. I think it is fun and a good kind of challenging. My girl friend and I recently moved to Ithaca to live in a small nature based intentional community. There are 11 kids here with another on the way and I have been having so much fun with them! My last few clients were people with Autism and we would go hiking, play chasing games, be silly with words, and have a regular structure built in to help them to feel secure and comfortable. It was a wonderful experience for me, my clients and their families. Being here now in Ithaca and surrounded by children, as well as thinking of having a child soon myself, have all made me feel like moving a bit towards child care would be perfect for me now.
