Before I decided to go to school to pursue my career in early childhood education I already knew what I had much love and support for children and their families. The most importantly I wanted to make an impact in children's lives by supporting them with educational and social skills. I currently have 12 credits in early childhood education that I have given me experiences in school settings and day care settings. I have also had multiple jobs in both babysitting and teaching. I also feel I'm qualified to be a nanny/babysitter because I am a responsible, hardworking, committed to giving the best support, and great role model. Setting positive examples for the children I look after which help them draw the best of themselves. Many of the role modeling I do can be seen on a daily basis. By showing respect for the simple things like holding the door Read more open for someone, greeting people, and offering help, asking others about their day and how they are feeling. With this, I help the child to learn how to value other people by watching from my examples. Children also take cues on self-worth from one, so showing respect for yourself will help the child do the same. Having positive communication skills help me modeling that words are a powerful thing. And being able to listen to the child and be mindful of them help you show you respect their thoughts and show value to them. Being able to respond and communicate through stress, anger or hurt feelings is a valuable tool that you can model for the child. We live in a society and city that is demanding, stressful, and fast paced. I feel that I'm a good the role model because I have strong morals I live by example. Teaching by example is often easier and more effective than forcing children to obey rules by scaring, threatening, or tempting them with rewards. It's not about being perfect either because no one is, rather it's about being mindful of the words and actions one uses that are being watched and absorbed by the child.
