Maleeka Washington Autobiography My name is Maleeka Washington, I am 34 years old and I reside in Jamaica Queens. My hobbies include being very artistic, writing songs, playing learning games with the children; I love to sing and be in good spirits, love taking walks, playing with my god kids, an having fun with them brings me joy and keeps me in good health. My personality is one of learning; Self learning and learning others. So far from working with children inside of a daycare center, some of the things I learned were keeping children safe, prevention of lead poisoning and other dangers to children, managing challenging behavior from the ages from 18 months to 36 months, preventing shaken baby syndrome and preventing sudden infant death syndrome and promoting safe sleeping. I am a loving, caring warm hearted person that wants to open up my own business in a home setting dealing with early childhood. I remember at the age of 11 years I was influenced to become a child care provider I love working with children; it was in my nature. I’m very happy to be blessed with working with one of my brother's friends in taking care of her 3 kids at the time and my job was to help the kids with homework, play games with them, teach them and also take care of a infant and toddlers. I had to change diapers, feed the infant with a bottle and play with them. I also remember when I was working at Roy Wilkins park for summer Youth camp. I was a youth counselor for 4 years working with children from the age group of 1-6 years old. My job was to provide a safe environment, I teach the kids how to read and write their own names, play educational games with them, make sure home work was done, teach them how to be independent on there own when using the bathroom and cleaning up the toys in the play room. I also supervised them on different kinds of trips. These are some of the reason why I love working with kids of all ages they bring me so much joy and I love each and every one of them. I have 15 years experience Working with infants & toddlers,special needs 3 years , disabled and sick senior citizens infant - 14years olds.
