I retired from nursing in 2012 to be a full time caregiver to my parents who had declining health.I was a nurse for 20 years working in a hospital, nursing homes, homecare as well as hospice and a pharmacy.I worked as a CNA,staff nurse,supervisor, assistant DON and DON.I took care of children all the way up to the elderly and loved taking care of them all.I worked at summer camps for 6+ years as well as day camps and was a daisy and brownie girl scout leader for several years.While going to school (junior high school thru college I regularly (every weekend) babysat for families that had anywhere from 1 to 5 children of various ages.I also am one of six children and being one of the oldest I also watched my brothers and sisters on a consistent basis.I have nieces and nephews that I helped to raise.I enjoyed all Read more of it knowing I took good care of all my family,patients and customers children.I am a people person and could never imagine not being involved with people in my professional/personal life.I would never have made it as computer person or a librarian.My parents have passed on and I moved back to NY to closer to my family in Claryville.Of course as a nurse I have a good working knowledge of medicine as well as first aid and infant/adult CPR.(My certification has lapsed but if needed I would certainly obtain a current card.)I am only looking for part time hours (15 or so) as I remain involved with my family and friends.I also don't mind working evenings/nights.While not having children of my own, one can certainly tell from this essay I have enjoyed working with people especially the children.
