Namaste, my name is Elisa and I am a 3 year old girl mom. I currently work full-time, 25 miles from my home, as a full-time nanny for an increasingly closer friend of mine; I have become somewhat integrated into the family and love them very much. I have been with them for 20 months, and in that time, I have grown as a mom and caregiver. I continuously educate myself by reading articles on BabySparks for my daughter’s age development, as well as listening to various parenting and caregiving podcasts. I have been working in caregiving since I was a Junior in high school, so just about 13 years ago now. I have been a babysitter since the earlier years, caring for my youngest cousins, one who was born with Cystic Fibrosis, and being responsible for administering medications and treatments daily. My goddaughter was born in 2014 with cerebral Read more palsy and brain seizures, who I also administered medication to, I lived with my best friend for the first 6 months to help her take care of her daughter and give her the ability to work at night. Since then, I have worked in a daycare setting as an assistant teacher (certified) for a brief time, during my 2017 semesters at SUNY Ulster, so I was formally trained in medication administration and epipen usage. I have been CPR and First aid certified as well and would be happy to certify again. While in college in 2018 I also was the Nanny for a 7 year old short term. When not working in childcare, I have worked with the home care and nurse aid communities both through agencies and private families. I am a full time college student, studying online for my bachelors of science in accounting. I have about 1 year left, so I am ultimately either looking for a position, or positions, closer to home, that can guarantee at least two years while I finish my degree and begin interning for more experience to integrate the world of accounting. Ideally, I’d like to find a full-time position, that I have the potential to stay in for 5 years while I build my resume and experience after graduation. I do need to bring my daughter to school at 9am on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as pick her up Wednesday through Friday. There is a possibility to pay for her stay at school in aftercare a little longer if needed. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon!
