I think it is a difficult balance to strike being a “fun” babysitter while being a good one- I really love children and want to be a good influence in their developing years. To me being a good babysitter is being a safe, positive and accepting space for children while still keeping them to their schedule and making sure they’re productive and healthy. I have a childlike spirit I think children love and can have fun with but at the end of the day I know how to be an adult and make sure what needs to get done gets done. I think mutual respect between sitters and parents is also incredibly important, and I pride myself on the great relationships I’ve cultivated with the families I’ve babysat.
