I have been caring for children in some capacity since I was 12 years old. I have always enjoyed working with children of all different backgrounds and levels of care. Initially I went to college for child-life psychology, but ended up switching to therapeutic recreation because I realized I wanted to work with kids in a more energetic and hands on role. I have been a camp counselor, worked with kids with behavioral and emotional problems, as well children with special needs such as diabetes, autism, limited mobility, etc. Throughout my time in middle, high school and college I also spent my time doing after school jobs as well as on and off babysitting. My last job was at at outdoor education center where children would come for overnight trips to learn about science, as well as team building activities. I love teaching children doing activities. Currently I am working Read more at an assisted living facility in Saratoga with the elderly community, but I do miss working with children and am looking for some part-time opportunity.
