I have been working as a mother's helper since I was about 9. A close family friend's son was diagnosed with Autism and I was asked to help out working with their son Patrick and two daughters. I have since been their babysitter over the years. The experience I have gained through working for this family has given me a passion for both childcare and teaching. I have now been a babysitter for four different families with kids ranging from 6 months to 13 years. My background in undergraduate studies of psychology and child development have helped me to better understand the diverse needs of children. I have just been accepted into a graduate program for dual certification in early childhood education and special education and am looking forward to a long career in teaching.
