Hello! My name is Sarah, I am 22 years old, and I am from Lindenhurst. I graduated last winter from Hunter College with a BFA in Film Studies. I have been working with children (outside of my own family) since I was 17 years old, and I absolutely love it! In high school, I worked at a museum where I facilitated birthday parties for children typically aged 1-5, which was always extremely rewarding. From 2017-2021, I have worked each summer as a counselor at a 4-H sleepaway camp on the North Fork of Long Island, where I spend 8 weeks overseeing and running activities for children from the ages of 6-15. In the summer of 2021, I was promoted to Unit Coordinator and was put in charge of the entirety of the oldest girls unit, where I dealt with any issue under the sun that they had. In the summer Read more of 2022, I was promoted again to Aquatics Director, where I oversaw all waterfront activities and instructors. Being a camp counselor and director has definitely been the most rewarding job I have ever had, it's especially heartwarming to watch the children grow each summer and see the excitement on their faces when they come back and recognize me. I also spent time caring for my boss's daughter (age 4), which I loved. Since being back in the city, I felt that babysitting would be the perfect job for me as I finish my degree.
