I am a 21-year-old currently attending SUNY New Paltz for a degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education, with a concentration in Political Science. I have 7+ years of informal childcare experience - including babysitting and volunteering; as well as 3 years of experience as a camp counselor for Girl Scouts - where I worked with girls ages 4-13. I love working with children and adhere closely to a "challenge by choice" pedagogy: letting kids choose what feels comfortable to them, while simultaneously offering encouragement to try new things. I love teaching kids about nature and watching their creativity grow. I will always provide a safe and supportive environment where kids can make mistakes. I am CPR/first aid certified, concussion trained, and I can provide proof of a clear NYS background check upon request (as an Education major, we were required to have these run before they could place us in a Read more school)!
