Meet Sophia

Hello! I am a college senior working and living in the city, originally from Seattle, WA but loving the East Coast! As a communications major I love people, exploring the city and other boroughs, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and of course children! I have two younger twin sisters so I was introduced to childcare at an early age (I was 3.5 years old when they were born, and often helped my mother with caring for them), and began sitting for my first outside family at age 8-first as a Mother's Helper, then as an after school babysitter. I babysat steadily until I graduated High School, primarily for three main families-all of which I was with for over three years. I often escorted the children to and picked them up from after school activities, on hot summer days we went to the pool, and on birthdays I helped out at Read more the party, assisting the parents and watching the children. I have experience with children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, both boys and girls (this includes both my twin sisters as newborns and a family whom I babysat for for many years, their toddler son and later his newborn brother). I'm an avid reader and love reading to children (often I find acting out or discussing the story afterword gets the child into the story time mood!) I am also CPR certified and have attended Red Cross Training as a Girl Scout.
