(Available December 2015) Hello, my name is Sonia. I have a BA in Psychology and child development classes. 13 years of babysitting, nanny experience, tutoring and volunteer experience working with children. I began babysitting for neighbors children, individually and in larger groups, ages ranging from 2 years to 8 years. Following this I was a summer nanny for a newborn and a two year old. Responsibilities included meeting the newborn's needs: burping, diapers, swaddling, interaction, naps, bathing, feeding, while engaging the two year old in developmentally appropriate activities such as motor skills and vocabulary. I was a full time summer nanny, working from 8am to 8pm for 4 and 6 year old girls. Duties performed included morning hygiene routines, breakfast, developmental and educational play, outdoor exercise, meal preparation,tutoring with summer homework assignments, teaching reading, and other creative activities, and bedtime routines. Many of the jobs included heavy house cleaning including Read more dishes, laundry, keeping all rooms in the house tidy and organized, preparing meals for all family members, errands, shopping, and scheduling. I have had previous CPR training and am willing to get certified again, I am a strong swimmer from multiple classes, have worked with special needs children, and have clean background checks and drug screens from working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
