I am a 22 year old currently in her last semester of undergrad at Hunter College. I'm studying English Education because my passion in life is spreading (and also gaining knowledge... because we learn a lot from children too!) I was born and raised in Washington Heights, where I now still currently live. I'm a native New Yorker, with a Portuguese background. I'm super energetic, fun, playful, and creative, however I can also buckle down on the silly times and get serious when it's time for homework and any other responsibilities like cleaning up and chores. I'm always easy to reach, and always willing to go the extra mile. I have a Portuguese (Portugal) background. I speak it fluently as well. I live Read more with my two wonderful parents. I'm an only child, but its never felt that way because I've always had the privilege of living in a great building community and constantly being a bigger sister to many of the children I've watched grow up! Not to add that I have so many little cousins who felt a lot like little siblings. I've been babysitting for over 8 years! When I was young, my own babysitter would just sit down on the sofa and watch tv with me, which frankly was boring! When I babysit I look forward to reading books together, going for a walk to the park, doing arts and crafts at home, visiting a local library or museum. As a future educator, I truly feel that at a young age, a child should always be super engaged in these kinds of activities...and the best part... is that its mutual fun! I love to take walks and discover new things outdoors. Some of my favorite pastimes are reading, biking, yoga, trying new foods, arts & crafts, visiting art exhibits, and watching travel documentaries. Also, I'm 100% fine with helping tidy around the house. I can prepare small meals for the child. I love to keep busy. I can also help the child(ren) with their homework or tutoring. I am a lot of fun with children but I am very responsible when it comes to getting homework and study. I've worked with children of all ages!
