Dear Prospective Family, I would like to do a small informal introduction to who I am- I was born and raised just outside Philadelphia in a quiet neighborhood. I was one of three children in a very loving, close family. I was educated at the best co-ed private school in the Philadelphia area. I then attended a small liberal arts school called Rollins College, located in Winter Park, Florida where I had well rounded undergraduate experience, with a Major in Fine Art. As for childcare- I am a very seasoned babysitter with excellent references. What I love about babysitting or nannying is making genuine connections with the family, and with each child. Each child is individual and has their own little personalities. I find it important to cater to each child's strengths and shy areas. I believe playtime, reading, imagination and creative time, a focus on good study skills for Read more children in school, good manners, nutritious meals, and exploration around the city is what sets me apart from other sitters. I love to cook for the family and do light housework. I am well rounded cook who caters to all tastes and dietary restrictions. A happy belly is a happy child! To add, I have extensive experience with newborns and I adore newborn sitting. Certified in Emergency situations for newborn to adult. CPR/ CCC (now recommended), heimlich maneuver, first aid. I am comfortable taking a child to the hospital as I am very thorough with doctor/ patient communication. Knowledgable in home remedies and with OTC or Rx meds. I have extensive safe driving experience through the BMW course in North Carolina, and responsible road reaction training at Autobahn Car Club located outside of the Chicago area. (slippery conditions, highway safety, foreseeing upcoming traffic and accident, accident prevention, and proper maneuvers in all situations. I am also very comfortable with Suburban sized to sedans and I can park in any situation, especially parallel parking in the city.) I am not able to run a motor vehicle check through sittercity since I am licensed in PA but if you would like me to use your car I can request a record from my DMV. I am familiar with many different car seats and proper installation. I love reading in spanish, practicing spanish, and watching spanish cartoons with children.
