Hello! My name is Charissa Hogeland :) I'm 24 years old with a B.A. from UCLA. I'm a professional actress/singer in between jobs who is great with kids so here I am. I babysat for a family of four children ages 8 months-7 years old all through high school (so when I stopped they were 3-10 years old) and I loved every minute. I often stayed late (til 2 or 3am) and wouldn't mind doing so now. The kids were very energetic so we spent the time playing games, acting out scenes in the movies we watched, and making music. I also babysat for a few other kids in high school, including a newborn baby and a 12 year old. I was the dance teacher at a theater arts camp for two summers, teaching 8-18 year olds as well as playing camp games with them. I also taught Sunday school Read more to 3 year olds for six months before being moved up to the kindergartners. I really truly do love kids. I love that their imaginations haven't been squashed yet. I love that they pull energy out of you that you didn't think you had. I usually let the kids "control" my time babysitting, meaning that if it's within the parents rules and it's something they want to do, I am not going to complain. Legos, ballerinas, visiting the park (in daylight), homemade pizzas, reading, playing piano, watching films, playing make believe or board games...anything goes. I am there to let them have fun and also get to bed on time. I also have a knack for being very patient with screaming babies who aren't used to mom and dad leaving. Skills: used to being attentive to food allergies, changed many diapers in my lifetime, have worked with kids who are being potty trained, am happy to use my singing/drama/dance skills with the kids, am happy to help with homework, am great with animals.
