My name is Luisa Fernanda Lopez Santos, I am 25 years old. I was born in Colombia and in 2011 I came to the U.S.A as an au pair after graduating from The University of Santander with a bachelors degree in law. My goal was to learn English and get to experience a new culture. As an au pair I lived with a family in Brooklyn who has two children, one was 5 months old and the other was 5 years old at the time. I lived with them for 1 year and my job consisted of bathing them, changing diapers, feeding the baby bottles, providing lunch, I would read books through out the day especially before nap time and I was also responsible for taking and picking up the 5 year old at school, I would also take them to the playground often and do other activities like occasionally Read more setting up playdates with other kids from the neighborhood. I found childcare to be a very rewarding experience and decided to extend my stay and went on to work for another family in Brooklyn but this time taking care of a 1 year old boy. My duties were basically the same; bathing, preparing healthy balanced food for lunch such as rice, veggies, and meat and fruits for dessert. I would also be responsible for setting up playdates. We would go to all the playgrounds in the neighborhood as well as in the city. I really enjoyed taking him to places like Barnes and Nobles, the Brooklyn’s children’s musuem, prospect park, and play spaces like jugemos a cantar in park slope. I love teaching Spanish to kids in a natural and fun way by engaging them with songs and games without forcing anything on them so they learn in their own pace. I love being outdoors and staying active. I’m a very loving person, I’m an only child so I’m very close with my mom. I have three cats and I’m also an animal activist, I am always helping animals by providing them with medical care and finding them a home. My dedication and trustworthiness make me a great nanny. As a reliable and enthusiastic babysitter
