I am originally from California, but I moved to New York City last fall to start a masters program in School Psychology at Columbia University. I have been babysitting children aged 6 months old to 15 years old for over 8 years, including time spent working as a caretaker for a babysitting service "University Sitters." This service employed university students to babysit a variety of families, according to our availability. In the future I will aspire to work in a K-12 school setting as a school psychologist. I really enjoy working with, learning about, and caring for children. Before moving to New York, I spent a year working as a counselor at a psychiatric center in California. This experience trained me how to respond appropriately in high-stress situations or emergencies, amongst multiple clients ranging from 18-60 years old. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. I am friendly, creative, Read more artsy, and fun! I enjoy engaging children in interactive activities, and I am always adamant about following guidelines and instructions provided for by the parents (i.e. bed time, meals, routines or rules). Finally, I always try to arrive 5-10 minutes early to a job. If I am running late I will give the parent sufficient notice, but this is a rare occurrence!
