Formally, I started babysitting when I was 13 years old. However, since I was one of the oldest children in my family I would be the one to watch the younger cousins. Along with babysitting my own family, I also babysat for many other families with children ages 2-13. For several years, I babysat for one particular family with three young children, age 2, 6, 9. When I turned 16, I started a part- time job at a local restaurant as hostess. A year later, I began working as a pool and restaurant hostess at a very fine resort, constantly working with children and families. For the past 8 plus years, I have been very involved in volunteering with a national foundation, called Best Buddies, where I volunteer with children with disabilities of all ages and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
