Hi! My name in Arlinda Hadzibrahimi. I recently graduated from The University at Buffalo with Bachelors in Psychology and in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. I love working with young children, and have a lot of experience doing so. I have worked at the University at Buffalo Childcare Center as a Substitute teacher. My responsibilities included: Optimizing the learning and play environment of a classroom of twelve toddlers aged 2 to 4. Assisting the teachers in planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the well being and safety of the children, supervising and interacting with children at all times; mealtimes, rest periods, restroom times, playtimes, and activity times. Helping children reach developmental milestones with a focus on conflict resolution, and self-help/discipline. I also worked at the University at Buffalo Early Childhood Research Center as a Teaching Assistant. My responsibilities included: Read more Assisting lead teachers in strategically designing and preparing sensory, art, math, fine motor and writing centers. Facilitating the play of 12 preschool children, while engaging them with questions to promote the growth of their knowledge on each weekly theme (i.e. seasons, camping, carnival). Participate in and supervise playground activities, music play and yoga classes. Focusing on fostering the development of self-esteem, self-motivation, creativity, curiosity, and good decision-making. I also have experience working with children 6 to 9 years old, as I was a Research Assistant at University at Buffalo's Department of Pediatrics, Division of Behavioral Medicine. Here I worked with children to study food and alternative reinforcement in the home environment as risk factors for child weight gain. I also volunteered with the Women In Science and Engineering Summer Outreach Program at Gloria J Parks Community Center in Buffalo, NY. Here I conducted fun science experiments with about 20 first grade children. Experiments included liquid nitrogen ice cream, paper chromatography, oobleck, lava lamps, and designing and testing parachutes.
