Helllo! I am a designer and soon to be MFA student at Parsons in the fall. I am a long time childcare provider and have lots of experience working with children of all ages including infants. I have been working with children in nursery and daycare settings since I was 14 and have 5+ years working exclusively as a nanny throughout high school and college at part time capacity during the school year and full time during the summer. I also have extensive experience working with children with special needs in a school setting as a teaching assistant and in a home environment as a respit care provider. I just relocated from the Midwest to NYC about a year ago and during that time I have been a working both in the design field and as a part time nanny for two children ages 9 and 12. I understand good childcare is a holistic approach that incorporates working closely with the parents to be an extension of their care in order to best meet the unique needs of each child. Beyond supervision I am capable and proactive in providing light housework, meal preparation, tutoring and homework help and whatever best helps the child and parents alike.
