I left the workforce 20 years ago to raise my children in Manhattan. I'm the lucky mom to three wonderful, but very different, children which has given me a great deal of experience guiding, encouraging, and nurturing children with distinct needs and personalities -- not to mention honing my organizational skills! My two older children are now in college and my youngest is a junior in high school. Recently, I took care of a little girl from the age of one month till she was almost 2 years old when the family moved to New Jersey. I'm now looking for an equally-rewarding opportunity with a new family where I can help meet the parents' and children's needs doing what I do best -- caring for others. The children's safely and happiness are my paramount concerns. Please be assured that I'm an active, engaging, energetic caretaker who will spend time reading Read more and playing with your children, maximizing every teachable moment. I am not a bench-sitter at the park, nor am I a fan of the screen culture that is all around us. I'm patient and upbeat and will treat your children with kindness and respect. Education is extremely important to me -- I have an MBA from NYU and my own children attended Gifted & Talented public school programs -- but I want learning to be fun so that it becomes a lifelong love. I am very knowledgeable about the New York City education system -- from preschool through high school -- as well as a wide array of enrichment classes. My own child was speech delayed and an extremely picky eater, so I have the patience and experience to work through these issues as well as information about available support services. I'm trustworthy and responsible and will work with you to make the care of your children worry-free. I'm looking for part-time work, ideally 20-25 hours a week.
