Hi, I am a current Pace University student in downtown Manhattan. I'm in my sophomore year, studying art history and film studies. This past semester I made the dean's list with a 3.74 gpa and I am a native English speaker. I love working with kids and am planning on getting a masters degree in education after I graduate. I have been babysitting since I was 13 and I have primarily cared for children in elementary school, but do have experience with younger children/toddlers and children as old as 13. I have experience in caring for groups of siblings and I, myself, come from a family with four children (I have 3 brothers!). I just recently spent the 2019 summer as a full time live-in camp counselor and arts instructor at an all girls ACA accredited summer camp and I will be returning to camp for the 2020 summer. I Read more also have 2 years of formal job experience working with children of all ages at an art studio as an instructor and event facilitator. My class schedule has limited my availability to where I am not available on Monday evenings or at all on Tuesdays, but I have open availability any time after 1 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and am available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at any time. There are a few Saturdays throughout the spring that I will have a morning/afternoon museum visit for my art classes, but I will know these dates ahead of time and will never cancel last minute unless there is a dire emergency. With my job as a camp counselor I have gone through rigorous training for childcare and health and safety precautions. I have experience with children with allergies, with varying social, economic and cultural backgrounds, with different academic and social levels, and different emotional levels. I am comfortable with pets and can help with light household cleaning or meal preparation if needed.
