Hello! My name is Jayme and I am 21 years-old. I am a recent college graduate and hold a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. Recreational therapy utilizes recreation and activity-based interventions to address the needs of individuals with physical and/or mental illnesses as well as disabilities, as a means to psychological and physical health. I love incorporating my studies into child care because there are endless activities one can do that allows us to step away from technology and enjoy genuine social interactions. I have worked with children ranging from infant to elementary age since I was in high school. I am blessed to come from a big family with lots of young children, so my first experience in child care was watching my cousins and/or nieces and nephews. I have worked in child care groups where I would watch 5+ kids a day, and from there I became Read more the sitter for each individual family. I am reliable, respectful and responsible! Although I do not have a car in NYC, I have a license and experience driving children to and from school, activities, etc. I am also CPR and First-Aid certified. Not only do I watch kids, but I also teach tap dance and body percussion! You may have seen me in the off- Broadway show STOMP! I had the honor of being in STOMP for a little over a year and was a part of the final cast! The age range I have taught to spans from about 5 years-old to 18 years-old. I just recently finished teaching at a New York public school where I taught 3rd graders tap dance once a week! It is extremely rewarding to teach and spend time with children and watch as they grow into awesome individuals. Although I have more babysitting experience over nanny experience, I would love to be considered as your child care go to!
